Privacy Policy

1. WHO THIS COVERS

Inkitt (“we”, “us”) helps people discover tattoos, create ideas with AI, preview designs on a photo, and connect with artists. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we use it, who processes it, and how you can delete your account.

• the Inkitt mobile app
• tryinkitt.com (waitlist and marketing)
• artist and admin portals on tryinkitt.com subdomains

2. DATA WE COLLECT

Account

Email address, display name (if you provide one), authentication identifiers (including Apple Sign In tokens when you use Apple), and session data needed to keep you signed in.

Content you create or upload

• Saved tattoos, collections, and preferences
• AI chat messages, concept prompts, and generated concept images
• Body photos, design references, placement data, and try-on results
• “Find an artist” request details (style, placement, budget, notes)

Artist portal

If you apply as an artist: profile information, portfolio images, and application status. Published portfolio work is public in the app.

Waitlist

Email only, used to notify you about launch and product updates. We do not sell waitlist emails.

Subscriptions & purchases

Purchase and entitlement status are processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. We receive subscription status needed to unlock paid features; we do not store full card numbers.

Technical data

Device and app diagnostics needed to operate the service (for example crash or request errors). We aim to minimize logging of private photo content.

3. HOW WE USE DATA

• Provide discovery, save, AI create, meaning lookup, and try-on
• Authenticate you and secure the service
• Process artist applications and portfolio publishing
• Manage subscriptions and restore purchases
• Respond to support requests
• Send waitlist or transactional emails you requested
• Improve reliability and prevent abuse (including rate limits)

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your prompts or photos for advertising.

4. AI PROCESSING

When you use Create, Meaning, or Try It On, the prompts and images you submit for that request are sent to AI providers we work with (currently OpenAI for Create and Meaning; Google Gemini and/or OpenAI for Try It On, depending on configuration) solely to generate your result.

• We instruct providers not to use your data to train their models where the product settings allow.
• Your data is not used by Inkitt for advertising.
• You must agree to an in-app AI consent sheet before the first Create, Meaning, or Try It On request that sends data to an AI provider. You can withdraw consent anytime in Settings → Privacy.

5. WHERE DATA IS STORED & PROCESSORS

We use trusted processors to run Inkitt, including:

• Supabase — authentication and application database
• Cloudflare R2 — image and media storage
• OpenAI / Google Gemini — concept, meaning, and try-on generation
• RevenueCat + Apple / Google — subscriptions
• Resend — transactional and waitlist email
• Vercel — website and portal hosting

Processors may handle data in the United States or other countries. We select providers that offer appropriate security and contractual protections for the services they provide.

6. SHARING

We share personal data only:

• with processors listed above, under contracts, to run Inkitt
• when you ask us to (for example submitting a Find an Artist request)
• if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the service
• in a business transfer, with notice where required

Published artist profiles and portfolio works are public by design. Your private saves, chats, and try-ons are not a public profile.

7. RETENTION

We keep account and content data while your account is active. AI request payloads are retained as needed to show your history and results, then removed when you delete the related content or your account. Waitlist emails are kept until you ask to be removed or we retire the waitlist.

8. YOUR CHOICES

• Access / correction: update profile details in the app or portal where available, or email us
• AI data sharing: Settings → Privacy → Share data with AI providers (withdraw anytime). Create, Meaning, and Try It On will ask again before sending prompts or photos
• Report / block: use the safety menu (•••) on tattoos and artist profiles, or Report on AI concepts and try-ons. Blocked artists are hidden from your feeds; email hi@tryinkitt.com for urgent removals
• Delete account: Settings → Delete account in the app (or email hi@tryinkitt.com)
• Waitlist opt-out: reply to a waitlist email or contact us
• Subscriptions: manage or cancel in your Apple or Google subscription settings; deleting your Inkitt account does not automatically cancel a store subscription

9. ACCOUNT DELETION

Deleting your account removes your authentication record and associated private app data we store (saves, AI conversations and concepts, try-on sessions, and artist requests tied to your user id). If you also have an artist studio account, related portal records and portfolio works we store may be removed as part of deletion.

Media objects in our storage are removed from active use with your account; residual backups may persist for a limited period before purge. Store receipts and subscription history may remain with Apple, Google, or RevenueCat under their policies.

10. CHILDREN

Inkitt is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. SECURITY

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport, server-side secrets for AI providers, authentication on private APIs, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

12. CHANGES

We may update this policy. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy where permitted by law.
